چکیده
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a rare neurologic disorder that presents with variable symptoms and symmetrical abnormal white matter signaling most commonly of the occipital parietal lobes on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). PRES, also known as posterior leukoencephalopathy (RPLS) associated hypertension. Hypomagnesemia’s association PRES has been rarely reported. Here, we report patient severe hypomagnesemia presented improved magnesium replacement. Hypomagnesemia should be considered an underlying etiology in patients presenting promptly treated. The presentation can often concerning for acute cerebrovascular accidents dysarthria upper motor neuron symptoms, such facial droop, dysarthria, gait instability. Differential diagnosis includes rostral brainstem infarction, transient ischemic attack, infectious encephalopathy, metabolic/toxic which evaluated description case. common RPLS/PRES altered mental status, drowsiness, seizure, vomiting, alterations speech including visual disturbance. first signs noted are lethargy somnolence. In this case, notably initial serum corrected rapidly administration intravenous sulfate.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinico-radiological syndrome characterized by a headache, seizures, altered mental status and visual loss and characterized by white matter vasogenic edema affecting the posterior occipital and parietal lobes of the brain predominantly. This clinical syndrome is increasingly recognized due to improvement and availability of brain imaging...

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinicoradiologic entity. Neurotoxicity with characteristic watershed CT/MR imaging features characterize this condition. This case report describes PRES syndrome in a 35-year-old patient admitted with eclampsia. On the first postpartum day; she developed severe headache, generalized tonic-clonic seizures and visual symptoms including tr...

متن کاملPosterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and CT perfusion changes
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) can present with focal neurologic deficits, mimicking a stroke and can often represent a diagnostic challenge when presenting atypically. A high degree of suspicion is required in the clinical setting in order to yield the diagnosis. Cerebral CT perfusion (CTP) is utilized in many institutions as the first line in acute stroke imaging. CTP has...
